With some huge help from Sheldon & Becky this week, I’ve got a good start on moving. I still have probably a couple boxes to pack up with miscellaneous crap, and then it’s on to moving the couch, chair, dresser, and piano as the big items. Tonight I plan on taking a couple boxes up after work and then will try to unpack some things so I don’t have a bunch of boxes sitting in the way.

For planning purposes, that’s how many steps lead up to my new place. I’ll be working the stair master to get ready for the move.
Tonight I’ve got my first time home buyer’s class, and then once I’ve got the certificate from there, and my insurance on the condo, all the green lights will be lit and I’ll be good for signing on Tuesday. Wheeee.
Well, the time has come. It’s time to announce the worst kept secret of the year on my blog. Ready for it? Here it comes: Britney Spears is a bad parent. And now for the second worst kept secret of the year… Ryan bought a condo!
Yes, it’s true kids. Ryan has entered the world of domicile ownership. I bought a place in Johnston. Well, to be more specific, I’m buying a place in Johnston. If all goes well over the next week, I should close on it on the 20th. Then I have to be out of my apartment by the 29th at midnight.
So the next week or so is going to be full of packing and cleaning at my apartment and lining up utilities and whatnot for the new place. There’s plenty for me to do, but I’m not worried. I think I’m too freaked out to be worried, honestly. The date for big furniture movement looks to be the weekend after Thanksgiving. Mom and Dad are already coming down, and I’m going to see if I can entice the rest of the family to help out. Ryan will even spring for food and drinks…at the new place!
Anyway, that’s my big news for now. I hope to have a walkthrough this week sometime, and I’ll see if I can take pictures then and throw them up on my Flickr account. Otherwise you’ll just have to wait until the 20th before you can see the new place. I’d link you to a Google Map, but there’s nothing there.
